Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

by Philip K. Dick

In the aftermath of World War Terminus, Earth has become a dystopian wasteland. The remaining humans covet the luxury of real animals, a symbol of status in this desolate world. For the less affluent, companies create remarkably lifelike androids—even humans. When some of these sophisticated androids, known as Nexus-6 models, flee to Earth, it's up to Rick Deckard, a seasoned bounty hunter, to 'retire' these illegal entities. His mission is clear, but the hunt reveals a complex moral landscape, blurring the lines between man and machine and challenging the very essence of humanity.
