Signal To Noise

by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Back in Mexico City, 1988, Meche, a socially awkward fifteen-year-old girl, discovers she can cast spells with the power of music. Crafting mixtapes becomes her way of weaving magic, mending her fractured family life, and exploring possibilities of young love with her best friends Sebastian and Daniela. Fast forward to two decades later, grown-up Meche returns to her childhood city to face her father's funeral, only to unearth the poignant echoes of her teenage years. Her revisit forces her to confront the past and question the existence of lingering magic.
