The Boys of Summer

by Richard Cox

In 'The Boys of Summer,' a cataclysmic tornado tears through Wichita Falls, Texas, altering the life of nine-year-old Todd Willis who is left in a coma. Upon awakening four years later, Todd finds himself entangled in hallucinations and eerie sensations, making it difficult for him to discern between what's real and what's not. As he and his new friends navigate the tumultuous waters of adolescence, they encounter first love, betrayal, and a harrowing secret that seals their lips for years to come. The narrative then propels us twenty-five years into the future when the men must reunite to face the darkness of their shared history. Their endeavor to reconcile their fragmented memories unearths truths that could either mend the fissures in their bond or shatter their lives forever.
