Inkdeath

by Cornelia Funke

Inkdeath draws the conclusion of the Inkheart trilogy in a world where the lines between reality and fiction blur. Dustfinger is dead, and the Inkworld is under the tyranny of the Adderhead, whose immortality is tethered to a book crafted by Mo, Meggie's father. As villages suffer under his rule, Mo adopts the mantle of the Bluejay, a character from his writings, to lead the rebellion. With the Book of Immortality coming apart, Mo faces the White Women of Death and the dreadful consequence of all the children being snatched to serve in the Adderhead's mines. The stakes are higher than ever; Mo must repair the book to save the children and the Inkworld, navigating a perilous path that weaves through heartache, sacrifice, and a possible pact with Death itself.
