Dae Joon, known as Shane to his American peers, is the embodiment of success as a Wall Street investment banker. However, when the Asian Financial Crisis strikes, he finds himself drawn back to Seoul to aid in the country's financial salvation. As Korea's economic stability hangs by a thread, Dae Joon confronts his own turmoil. A man torn between the Western world he's dominated and the Eastern traditions he's inherited, he's challenged by expectations to fulfill his role as a firstborn son, 'jangnam,' while witnessing his father's debilitating illness. A Korean conglomerate's call for help, led by his closest friend, and a chance encounter with a woman showing a new path, ignite a conflict of loyalties and identity. In the eye of an economic typhoon, Dae Joon must decide where his duties truly lie, and navigate his way through the bonds of legacy and the allure of an alternate life.
