Super Sad True Love Story

by Gary Shteyngart

Set in a dystopian near-future, 'Super Sad True Love Story' follows Lenny Abramov, the son of Russian immigrants, in a crumbling America dominated by a credit crisis and imminent financial collapse. Working at a company selling immortality, Lenny is a relic of a bygone era with his love for books in a post-literate society. He falls for Eunice Park, a young Korean American woman with a sharp wit and modern sensibilities. Amidst the chaos of an economically defeated America, guarded by National Guard tanks, and set upon by riots, Lenny and Eunice's unlikely romance explores the human longing for connection and the redemptive power of love in a world obsessed with technology and superficiality.
