Who Is Rich?

Who Is Rich?

by Matthew Klam

Cartoonist Rich Fischer finds himself in a familiar conundrum each summer: to teach at an arts conference in a New England town, leaving his family and doubts behind. This year's return brings him face to face with Amy O'Donnell, the object of a passionate affair and a frenetic exchange of messages over the winter. In a narrative filled with dark humor and stark observations, 'Who Is Rich?' delves into Rich's internal battle with desire, artistic frustration, and the obligations of family and monogamy. As Rich and Amy navigate the choppy waters of their confusing partnership amidst the picturesque chaos of the conference, the story illuminates the universal struggle of balancing love and lust, ambition and domesticity, the yearning for connection and the solitude of creative pursuits.
