Moxie

by Jennifer Mathieu

Vivian Carter is tired of the status quo at her Texas high school, where the football team rules and girls are subject to sexist policies and harassment. Inspired by her mother's Riot Grrrl past, Viv creates a feminist zine, Moxie, to vent her frustrations. What starts as a personal project soon ignites a movement, as Moxie unites girls from different social groups and sparks a full-blown feminist revolution. Interwoven with Viv's journey are themes of friendship, empowerment, and the challenging road toward social change.
