The Kaiju Preservation Society

by John Scalzi

Amid the global sweep of COVID-19 in New York City, Jamie Gray finds life as a delivery app driver lackluster until an unexpected opportunity arises. Reconnecting with an old acquaintance, Tom, Jamie learns of an 'animal rights organization' in need of assistance on a field visit. Jumping at the chance for a change, Jamie is clueless that what awaits is far from any earthly wildlife rescue. Thrust into an alternate dimension, Jamie discovers a world ruled by Kaiju, gargantuan dinosaur-esque beings, imperiled by human activity. Juggling the colossal responsibility of Kaiju preservation with the reality that other, more reckless humans threaten the existence of both worlds, Jamie is entangled in an interdimensional crisis with stakes reaching far beyond the titanic creatures they're sworn to protect.
