All This Could Be Different

by Sarah Thankam Mathews

Embracing the ever-changing landscape of young adulthood, "All This Could Be Different" follows Sneha, an Indian-American immigrant freshly navigating life in Milwaukee post-graduation. Though her corporate job provides some stability, allowing her to form connections such as with Tig, help her friends like Thom, and send money to her family in India, Sneha's life is anything but static. She embarks on a journey of self-discovery, queer love, and friendship during America's economic downturn. Struggles appear in the form of financial precarity, love just outside her grasp, especially with the captivating dancer Marina, and deeply personal secrets. Despite the encroaching turmoil, Sneha's relationships deepen, and together with her friends, she confronts the challenges head-on, guided by hope and the pursuit of a fulfilling life in a world where everything could be different.
