Seed

by Rob Ziegler

In the not-so-distant future, the world as we know it has unraveled. The 22nd century dawns upon a broken America, where ravaging dust bowls and nomadic tribes define the New West. Amidst this desolation is Satori, not just a mere corporation but a living, sentient city risen from Denver's ashes. Satori not only bioengineers seeds to withstand the harsh climate but also creates a new breed of beings—Designers, Advocates, and Laborers—who epitomize post-human evolution. With the remains of U.S. governance clinging to Satori's seeds as their sole lifeline, power balances precariously. Enter Sienna Doss, an ex-Army Ranger turned protector, whose mission to retrieve a rogue Designer plunges her into the city's enigmatic core. Her path crisscrosses with Brood and his brother Pollo, streetwise orphans caught in Satori's web, culminating in a confrontation that could alter the very essence of human existence.
