Slewfoot

by Brom

In the unsettling woods of Colonial Connecticut, 1666, an enigmatic spirit named Slewfoot emerges, revered by the wildfolk and feared by the colonists as a harbinger of doom. For Abitha, a widow ostracized by her strict Puritanical community, Slewfoot becomes an unlikely ally against oppression. As clashes between old pagan beliefs and rigid Puritan values escalate, a fervent war threatens to consume the village. Abitha finds herself at the heart of the turmoil, grappling with newfound powers and an allegiance to the misunderstood entity, Slewfoot. Amidst this chaos, Brom's vivid illustrations bring to life a dark, immersive world where survival hinges on the fraying bond between a woman and the legendary being she befriends.
