Labyrinth

by Kate Mosse

In 'Labyrinth,' two women, separated by eight centuries, are bound by a common destiny. Alice Tanner, working on an archaeological dig in 2005 near Carcassonne, France, uncovers skeletal remains and artefacts that speak to a mysterious past. Among them, a stone ring and a leather bag holding secrets that lead back to the medieval period and to Alais, a young woman entrusted with a book revealing the truth of the Holy Grail. Alice's discovery triggers a chain of events that echoes the turmoil of Alais's time, marked by the Crusades and the fight to protect sacred knowledge. Both women find themselves in a maze of intrigue, where history and present intertwine, each step drawing them closer to an ancient truth that others are desperate to suppress.
