The Reading List

by Sara Nisha Adams

In the quaint London suburb of Wembley, two lonely hearts are brought together by a simple piece of paper—a reading list found nestled within the pages of a library book. Widower Mukesh, seeking solace in routine and nature documentaries after the loss of his wife, unexpectedly befriends Aleisha, a young, anxious librarian. When Mukesh expresses his concern for his introverted granddaughter, Aleisha shares with him the mysterious reading list she discovered. As they embark on a literary journey through the novels listed, they find much more than escapism within the stories. Their shared experience blossoms into an unlikely friendship, changing their lives and healing their hearts one book at a time. 'The Reading List' is a testament to the transformative power of literature and the bonds it can forge.
