The Morning Star

The Morning Star

by Karl Ove Knausgård

Over the course of a night, an enigmatic celestial body unveils above southern Norway, profoundly altering the lives of nine individuals. As ordinary existence gives way to inexplicable events, an uneasy premonition looms. A congregation of crabs on the roadway, an escapee from a psychiatric ward, and a gruesome discovery involving a death metal band signal an unnerving change. Journalism, faith, and the quotidian weave together, questioning reality as the boundaries between life and death blur. Knausgaard's 'The Morning Star' traverses the familiar and the uncanny, daring the reader to grasp the limits of the human experience amidst a collision of the living and the beyond.
